Behind 30 years of experience leading strategic transformations, mergers and acquisitions, and growth ventures, I founded Manning Ventures, an LA-based boutique investment and advisory firm. We help ambitious and switched-on teams across the nutrition, wellness and sports verticals to achieve and sustain their full potential.My career essentially began as an Olympic rowing medalist, where I deepened my understanding of what it really means to be results oriented. Two weeks after the Barcelona Games, I started at Harvard Business School. Shortly after, I joined Bain & Company, where I spent 19 years, primarily in London. As a partner, I helped drive disproportional outcomes with clients in the consumer, retail, industrial and private equity sectors, and internally played leadership roles in marketing and recruiting. From Bain, I was recruited to join a client, Anglo American, the FTSE 10 diversified mining group and owner of De Beers to lead Group Strategy. I worked closely with the CEO, top team, and Board to help devise and execute a major strategic, operational, and organizational turnaround that drove a >10x increase in share price. I was also on the investment committee of Anglo Plats Ventures, which we spun out as a ~$200M+ venture fund.Now, at Manning Ventures, I leverage my experience, problem solving skills and network to invest in and support innovative, high potential early stage growth companies.
