Renting my house on Airbnb has been a wonderful experience. There was a learning curve for sure, but the rewards greatly surpass the occasional hiccup. My property has the highest possible ratings, because I make sure every Customer experience exceeds expectations.

My passion for cycling goes back 30+ years to Dublin, Ireland, when I rented a road bike to travel from the suburbs to classes at Trinity College. At Downtown Bicycles my principal job is selling new bicycles of all types to a diverse clientele. My secondary role is building bikes and mechanic work.

Launched medical device start-up providing allergy testing services and supplies to medical practices. Focused on ophthalmologists. Spearheaded all aspects of daily operations including marketing and sales.Evaluated market, built necessary tools, and navigated through rough waters of competition in a new niche market with complex customers and regulations.Designed website and supporting software package.

I started with B&L selling the Retisert surgical implant for Uveitis. My ranking was 2nd both years we sold Retisert. I had the idea to use specialty pharmacies to pay for Retisert ($18,000) as cost was often a reason to reject the surgery. This idea was adopted across the country. After the implant failed to gain significant share, half of the 16 sales representatives were laid off. I was kept on, and my role was converted to that of Retina Surgical Sales Specialist for the Millennium. I was very successful selling the MVE and AVE enhanced victrectors. To increase sales, I partnered with Synergetics as their light pipes were superior to ours. The strategy helped preserve a book of business that was failing across the country.When the Millennium was basically mothballed, I was one of only a few representatives of the original 16 that was chosen to sell the Stellaris Phaco Platform. I was successful converting much of my remaining Millennium business. I placed in the top 20% of representatives for year end honors.This led to a promotion to be the Vitreo Retina Surgical Specialist. I helped launch the Stellaris PC.

I was known to be the most knowledgeable CNS sales representative. I studied for boards with psychiatric residents and read Stephen Stahl extensively and was lucky enough to see a lecture of his in person. I was even used as a quasi-MSL by representatives in the region for difficult offices. Excelled at unraveling military bureaucracy and won President's Club on strength of robust military sales (2.5M, pills in SSRI category, out of 5M). Won rep. of the quarter four times that year. I was recognized with the Bear-Award for "always working past expectations." I was given a one of a kind position to help with launch of Acamprosate for the treatment of alcoholism. By enlisting the #1 prescriber of Antabuse in the nation to join the speakers bureau, we were able to present at over 40 alcohol treatment centers in the first quarters after launch, driving territory ranking to second.By building strong Advocates, I achieved many formulary approvals. Formulary approvals included Infasurf, a surfactant for the treatment of premature infants, at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans. In the same breath, I affected a formulary approval for Infasurf at Charity Hospital. The topper was a formulary approval for Celexa on the state formulary; a feat I pulled off by myself. This territory was in President's Club the following year, but I had transferred to Colorado.

Contracted with Skilled Nursing Facilities to provide rehabilitation services. Promoted the new services to local hospitals to increase referrals and thereby increase Medicare census and billable hours. Traveled throughout territory (Midwest including Minneapolis, Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, Gary, etc) and maintained sales relations in each account.

Worked at various restaurants and hotels to pay for school and just after school. Management experience came from McDonalds, Budgetel, and the Pfizer Hotel.
