As an Intern on the project I analysed camera trap data in the lab and carried out field work alongside researchers in the Ranthambhore National Park, Rajasthan. • Processed and amounted camera trap data into excel files to estimate population densities using R programming to create activity patterns for species recorded by the camera traps• Created literature reviews on India's small cat species in order to compare the projects data with that of previous research• Field work required the deployment of over 50 camera’s throughout Ranthambhore National Park for the Random Encounter Model, a novel population estimation technique requiring precise implementation and calibration • Line transects were also conducted alongside camera trap deployment• Field work required precision and intuition, often having to experiment with new methods and improvise when tackling problems -
