Marketing & Retail Development Manager with Thomas Flynn & Sons Ltd. Overall Responsibility for all marketing activities within the company and the general management of the farm shop. In this time I have helped develop the three major departments; Flynn Fuels, Flynn Machinery and Flynn Agri-Store to be leading companies within their own respective markets.I have gained huge experience working with some the world’s leading industry specific brands (Fendt and Massey Ferguson in the agricultural machinery industry and Valero in the oil industry) and have formalized fantastic working relationships with my fellow senior managers in order to make the marketing and retail function of the business as successful as it has ever been. I was recently runner up in the National Agribusiness Awards for Rising Star of the Year 2016.

Midlands

In Lidl I learned how to become a better manager in terms of getting the best out of individuals for the good of the overall team performance. I also gained a vast knowledge of retail standards and the benefit of shop presentation and correct pricing and stock control procedures. This helped me raise my own personal standards and those around me in order to achieve sales, stocks and, most importantly, profitability goals.

Athlone

Tubs and tiles is one of Ireland's largest providers of Tiles and Sanitary Ware in the Retail Market. During my time in management, we achieved many successes. The most notable is surviving a tough period in business where the sector (construction) that we operated in had been one, if not the most affected at this time. We also achieved many prestigious awards such as being the only tile and sanitary ware business to be acknowledged as one of the top 50 retail stores in Ireland by the FBD Crest Retail Awards in 2007 and 2008. Tubs and Tiles were bought out by the Harleston Group in April 2012 and the future looks very good for the business.

Athlone

During this time I was logistics manager for the shop along with my main duty as sales executive. I also won a week long trip to France as part of a Company Incentive for anyone under the age of 25 who showed management potential. I was chosen as one of twelve out of a possible 500 in the Ireland and UK. I was one of two Irish people who were awarded with this trip. This trip provided me with an understanding of how cultures differ in business practices.

Mullingar

I achieved the highest sales figures in the business from August 2004 to August 2005. I made it my business make sure all customers (both retail and trade) were looked after.
