• Selected suitable volatile metalorganic precursor compounds for use in hybrid MBE. Criteria were developed to select precursors likely to produce defect-free films of oxides that had not yet been synthesized with MBE
• Designed gas inlet system to deliver precursor compounds to MBE growth chamber. Gas inlet system uses capacitive manometer and linear leak valve to deliver precisely controlled quantities of precursor gas
• Designed four-point bending apparatus to measure the effect of strain on the electrical transport properties of Hall bar samples of oxide thin films
