I currently work at Fastnet Forwarding Ltd. This is a new role for me as I come out of University in June 2024. In the time since working here, I have undergone training in which I have learned about Freight Forwarding. On a day-to-day basis, I am setting up domestic and international road freights as well as taking responsibilities of courier jobs. Furthermore, I complete import and export clearances for the jobs I undertake to ensure the whole life cycle of a job runs smoothly. Having to interact with the customers and hauliers on a daily basis allows me to understand many roles within the business and has truly expanded my skills. Finally, completing financials of the job is also crucial in what I do when it comes to invoicing. This graduate role currently has grown my skills to a new level and has allowed me to understand what it is like to work at a large company with many aspects to deal with.I Have had experience in a restaurant between the years 2019-2020 where I was a member of the kitchen staff undertaking activities such as cooking, cleaning and occasionally serving food whilst following the correct health and safety protocols of a kitchen. This allowed me to improve my skills and increased experience within a workplace.Furthermore, I also do part-time care from home which started 3 years ago to today’s date, where I have improved my compassion and social care skills. This also required me to take on caring training as well as more specific needs such as epilepsy training.I have just completed my 3 year business management course where I will graduate this summer of 2024, after 3 hard working years at Oxford Brookes University, overall, readying me for the world of work, which has begun in June at Fastnet.
