I graduated Rutgers University New Brunswick in May of 2019 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a specialization in Aerospace Engineering. I have a strong background in different types of 3D modeling and CAD software including SOLIDWORKS and Inventor. I am currently an Engineer at Newport News Shipbuilding where I work within the developmental components group to support the Ford Class aircraft carriers. Working within the propulsion plant has been a great opportunity for me, one in which I’ve developed a deep understanding of technical rigor. While working to meet deadlines and incorporate advanced technology, safety is always the priority. The criticality of my components demands rigorous checks and testing to ensure that there is a sufficient factor of safety and an extensive action plan to support any shipboard condition. When troubleshooting issues, I work to find creative solutions that can be tested while ensuring the safety of personnel. The importance of my work inspires me to improve plant operations and support my team the best I can. I am continuing my education at Old Dominion University to further my career and better support those around me. I have been focusing my research on advanced materials and additive manufacturing (AM). I have been researching technologies such as Fused Filament Fabrication and Direct Energy Deposition, where new advancements allow us to generate carbon fiber and metal components. AM technology is a personal passion of mine and I am glad that I have the opportunity to integrate it into my professional life.
