Built, tested, and validated the accuracy of machine learning algorithms against a handmade dataset. The machine learning algorithms were trained to detect anomalies in log messages from several devices such as, Windows Servers/Desktops, Firewalls, Switches, and Wireless Access Points. A Deep Neural Network (DNN) model was also built, tested, and validated against the same handmade dataset. The performance of both the machine learning algorithms and the DNN’s were then compared to make a recommendation on which should be used for a prototype to show to potential investors.

Taught and instructed fifteen students of different experience levels how to code on an Arduino. Topics instructed included: Big-O analysis, For/While loops, Compound Logic Statements, and Switch statements. Individually tailored advice and feedback based on their experience and project(s). Worked with a team of other peer mentors and advisors to better assist the students with their projects. Some projects include but not limited to: Small-Scale Windmills, An Automated Home Gardening system, Motion-Triggered Lighting, and an LED-Mood panel. To complete their projects different sensors were used in conjunction with the Arduino, such as but not limited to: Motion-Detector, Photo Resistors, LED's, Humidity-Temperature, etc. Advised and gave personalized instruction for vertical integration to keep the students engaged with and thinking about future projects.

Provided tutoring assistance for both Math and ICS courses. Notable Math courses include: Trigonometry, College Algebra, Calc I & II. Notable ICS courses include: Discrete Mathematics I & II, Intro to Java, Java Object-Oriented Programming, C and C++ programming. During my time as a Peer mentor I tutored 50 students, many of whom needed assistance in both Math and ICS. All of my end of session surveys was overwhelmingly positive. During my tutoring shifts I would routinely be placed with less confident ICS tutors so that I may provide them guidance while they would be tutoring students. Additionally, during my shifts, I was routinely sought out over the ICS tutors due my positive attitude and ability to help the students understand difficult concepts.

Managed the security team at the Hale Pawa’a site. Detailed and concise logs were written by hand and digitally per each shift worked, with any abnormalities being noted. The building was toured hourly to ensure the building and all its exterior doors were secured and free of debris. Each morning a summary of the previous day’s incidents or lack thereof were given to the building manager. Any broken/malfunctioning equipment that was found would also be reported to be buildings maintenance crew. Any incident reports would be reviewed and edited for clarity, or for any further explanation. Any incident reports would also get forwarded to the Branch Manager. A summary would be provided noting any lack preparedness by personnel or required reprimands that occurred. A monthly report would track the number of reports generated and the type of incident to spot any trends in/around the area. All new personnel would be trained for 1 week on left seat right seat with myself. To ensure the new personnel were properly trained and a good fit with the site and staff on site.

While conducting rounds RFID tags were scanned verifying the rounds were completed in a timely manner. When not conducting rounds, I used a digital camera system to monitor the building as well as the attached parking garage. For critical events, an incident report would be completed. With the report were picture(s) of the incident, a separate log with all key moments, the digital camera(s) surrounding the incident would be monitored with the videos being stored capturing any/all relevant information.
