Senior Electrical EngineerNk Labs, Llc Apr 2021 - PresentUsNK Labs is a Design Consultancy that partners with global brands and innovative startups to support the development of novel technical products. I lead a team of electrical, software, and mechanical engineers to provide product and technical solutions in domains such as industrial, scientific, biotech, wearable technologies, MEMS, and energy.Client Management and Engineering Leadership‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾My responsibilities range from client and project management to writing project proposals and specifications for PCBs, electrical subsystems, and instrumentation systems. In our dynamic environment, I work across engineering disciplines to both supervise junior engineers and to directly implement detailed designs. I routinely pick up tasks in firmware, signal processing, physics simulation, and mechanical design to meet project needs.Building High Performing Teams‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾I’m a steward of our culture and drive the recruitment for key roles including Electrical, Software, and Mechanical Engineers. My responsibilities include resume reviews, technical phone screens, panel interviews, and debriefs. In addition, I supervise junior engineers, co-op students, and full-time hires, assigning projects, providing clear project scopes, and conducting thorough reviews of their work to ensure their development and success within the team. In 2022, I was promoted to Senior EE in recognition of my leadership and technical contributions.Major Projects I’ve led include:● Particle Physics Instrumentation and Detectors for Nuclear Fusion Experiments at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) ● Electrical and Sensing Systems for Aircraft Liquid Hydrogen Tanks ● Environmental Sensors Deployed at Scale for Next-Gen Agriculture ● Test and Characterization Instrumentation for MEMS DevicesTechnologies: MCU, FPGA, imagers/displays, ADC/DAC, DDS, DDR4, SDIO, PoE, USB, WiFi, LTE, SiPM, and SerDes -
Computational Design Engineer - Eda And Scientific ComputingAxiomatic_Ai Jun 2024 - Sep 2024Boston, Ma, UsAxiomatic_AI is accelerating scientific discovery and engineering design with interpretable, first-principles AI that is verifiably correct, cross-disciplinary, and human-centric. My work involved developing our deep technology and applying it to problems in the EDA space, including for IC, PCB, and electromagnetic design problems, as well for multidisciplinary challenges incorporating optics, photonics, and others. My responsibilities included:● Developing Axiomatic_AI’s deep tech - Automated Interpretable Reasoning (AIR)● Integrating domain-specific tools for design, simulation, and verification● Cultivating relationships with customers, partners, and investors to support Axiomatic_AI’s mission -
ScientistNooroot Sep 2020 - Jan 2021Culver City, California, UsNooroot is the world’s first neuromimetic intelligence platform. I was hired as Nooroot’s first scientist to help them establish their first product and find their pilot project. My role involved building classification models with Nooroot’s technology and benchmarking them against widely used ML tools on industry-standard datasets. -
Graduate Research Assistant - Ph.DThe Mgh/Hst Martinos Center For Biomedical Imaging Sep 2016 - Aug 2020Charlestown, Ma, UsDuring my PhD, I developed portable and low-cost MRI systems to overcome the cost and accessibility limitations of conventional machines, while still providing high imaging performance. My approach consisted of: creating a concept for a novel MRI scanner that meet an unmet clinical need; capturing technical requirements for system and subsystem performance; and executing the detailed design, prototyping, and imaging performance validation. This work was published in my Ph.D. thesis, peer-reviewed journal papers, and conference proceedings. My work supported the development of technical expertise in three key areas:●Computational Design and Simulation: I wrote custom physics simulation and design optimization tools to design custom MRI subsystems, using tools such as spherical multipole expansions, FEM/BEM field simulations, and both continuous optimization and discrete optimization using genetic algorithms.●DFM and Physical Prototyping: I next developed software tools to fabricate these optimized designs with up to 1000s of degrees of freedom using technologies such as CNC milling and 3D printing. I instrumented test benches to spatially map all magnetic fields and RF antenna gains to verify they met design specs.●Acquiring and Reconstructing Medical Imaging Data: I created signal acquisition systems and protocols to obtain high-SNR data from my prototype MRI systems. I wrote image reconstruction software to produce high-quality images from these data while correcting for system hardware imperfections. -
Graduate Research Assistant - Quantitative Brain Oxygenation Imaging With MriMassachusetts Institute Of Technology Mar 2014 - Aug 2016Cambridge, Ma, UsIn my master's program, I led a project measuring brain blood vessel oxygenation using MRI, a measure critical to the study of brain tumors, stroke, and baseline physiology. Faced with tool limitations in analyzing a multi-modal imaging dataset from subjects with Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM), I developed a method that modeled the MRI process more accurately, enhancing local oxygenation parameter estimates despite resolution limits. This research culminated in my first published paper. -
