Teach doctoral level Personality Assessment, Introductory Assessment, and Theory and Technique of Psychotherapy to students in doctoral program in Counseling Psychology.

Provide individual clinical supervision to clinical psychology doctoral candidates.

Provide individual and couples psychotherapy and personality/neuropsychological assessment in my private practice group. I conduct therapy and psychological assessment with individuals across the lifespan including children and adolescents. Therapy orientation is primarily psychodynamic with specialty training in Jungian and Phenomenological perspective. I have substantial experience in psychological assessment and training specialties in Collaborative Assessment and projective assessment instruments such as the Rorschach. My group also conducts consultation, evaluation, psychotherapy, and formal psychological testing in inpatient and residential facilities, and are regularly expanding our network of consulting agencies. Functioned in a postdoctoral capacity on an NIMH funded study investigating the efficacy of two types of psychotherapy for the treatment of depression in children between the ages of 7-12. Also overseeing administration of diagnostic interviewing and neuropsychological assessment of children at risk for mood disorders. Duties: Coordination of all research activities relevant to the study including implementation, communication with IRB, and supervision of study staff. Responsible for recruitment of participants, overseeing data collection and analysis, and compliance with data safety protocols. Administered psychotherapy to research participants and also conducted comprehensive and semi-structured diagnostic evaluations, IQ, and neuropsychological assessment.

Worked for the MIRECC division of the VA conducting research on veterans diagnosed with schizophrenia. Duties: Administration, scoring, and interpretation of neuropsychological measures and semi-structured clinical interviews and symptoms inventories to determine inclusionary or exclusionary criteria for study. Served in capacity as clinical consultant. Aiding in data collection and analysis. Study coordinator on research with OEF/OIF TBI patients.

APA accredited predoctoral internship position in state hospital system. Duties: took part in two rotations, which were practiced continuously for the entire year. First rotation included outpatient therapy and assessments, consultation, and program development within recovery model of treatment. Ongoing treatment consisted of short-term (< 1 year) outpatient therapy and psychological and neuropsychological assessment for severe and persistently mentally ill and low income and culturally diverse clients; assessment, group therapy, and consulting work with clients on Co-occurring (Dual) Disorders unit. Gained substantial experience in furthering my approach to psychodynamic psychotherapy in community setting. Conducted weekly evidence-based psychotherapy for problem sexual behaviors and conducted assessments for risk with sexualized clients. Conducted weekly group therapy for sexual offenders and persons with substance use issues. Also created and maintained treatment plans and progress notes. Created assessment referral service for site and completed nearly 25 full assessment battery reports. Second rotation took place in the forensic division in the State of Connecticut working with inpatient forensic patients. I conducted individual and group psychodynamically-oriented therapy, milieu consultation, and full assessment batteries with individuals found not competent to stand trial or not guilty by reason of insanity. This also involved documentation of progress, risk, and treatment planning. Also presented grand rounds and peer consultation.

Master’s level clinician position for a state-funded project in a juvenile detention setting. Duties: Interview and assess juvenile offenders to determine level of need for psychological or substance abuse services. Responsible for creation of psychological evaluative report, clinical diagnosis, and determination of level of care utilizing CALOCUS rating system. Also conducted crisis therapy at the detention center walk-in clinic where assessed lethality, psychological diagnoses, and assisted in psychiatric consultations with at risk juveniles. Additional duties included training staff on various DSM-IV diagnoses and lethality assessment.

Practicum position in clinical psychology in inpatient hospital setting conducting neuropsychological assessments for veteran’s from a variety of backgrounds. Duties: Conducted neurobehavioral interviews, full and brief neuropsychological assessments, long-term and short-term therapies with assessment patients, participated in and presented cases at bi-weekly case conferences, and wrote full reports and notes in clinical system. Neuropsychological assessments were requested to explore various organic difficulties, such as dementias, illness, or trauma. Also integrated personality assessment data into reports when suitable for particular clients.

Gained experience in inpatient work on acute care unit and forensic restoration to competency unit. Duties: Assessed, diagnosed, and treated individuals with acute and florid psychiatric symptoms. Utilized various psychological assessment tools. Conducted psychiatric interviews and provided recommendations for treatment planning in acute care and competency to stand trial in forensic care.

Supervisor of co-ed residential unit for children with various emotional, behavioral, psychiatric, and abuse backgrounds. Duties: Creation, maintenance, and application of treatment milieu in unit. Supervision of staff. Oversaw various modes of programming including group therapy, treatment planning, and recreational milieus. Participation in staff meetings, treatment plan meetings, and medication reviews for clients. Managed presentations for funding to various state and federal institutions and to agency board of trustees. Conducted training on DSM-IV diagnoses, psychotropic medications, and behavior management. I was the youngest person ever promoted to this role within the facility.

Managed a caseload of twenty dual diagnosis homeless men in a program that aided them in developing life skills, social skills, vocational training, and d/a aftercare. Duties: Connected clients to various services to afford them the ability to attain various training opportunities and basic needs in metropolitan area and supervised their ability to meet these requirements. Met individually with each client twice per week to conduct treatment and aftercare planning. Facilitated group therapy focusing on treatment issues, life skills issues, and d/a recovery. Created paperwork and collected data for program. Presented to various state agencies for grant renewal.

Gained experience working as a volunteer with inner-city children with behavioral disorders and varying degrees of criminal activity. Participated in group therapy, recreational therapy, and taught social skills through use of token economy. Became the head intern and coordinated program management of other interns.

Gained experience working with individuals with severe to profound mental retardation, autism, and other developmental disorders in workshop setting. Aided agency in initiating first client-written newsletter.
