As Senior Architect for McAdam Design, I work as part of their Compliance Monitoring Team on secondment to FCB Studios.

Design Manager for Contracting Services division, specialising in retail, commercial, office and conservation projects

mcani provides freelance design and support services to construction consultants and contractors. Services include: providing drafting resources and project out-sourcing services, architectural design, project management, digital imagery and visualisation, design and site coordintation services.

As Associate Director, I set up and managed RKD's Belfast office, oversaw projects and helped develop marketing and business development strategies. I was primarily responsible for programming office workload, resourcing projects, staff recruitment and development, and the management of office contracts.As Project Architect, I was responsible for several medium and large scale projects including mixed use schemes, office developments (new-build & fit-out), industrial and pharmaceutical projects. This roles covered developing project through all work stages, from inception, design development, tendering and construction. As Site Architect for RKD, I worked directly for the client/ main contractors teams, reporting on compliance, progress & quality; managing design changes; phased hand-over and completion stages; and dealing with the on-site coordination aspects of the project. Typical projects ranged in value from £2m to +£20m both within the UK & Ireland, and internationally.

Employed as a graduate architect, I worked on preparing and developing planning applications for housing assocaitions, and gained valuable experience through site inspections, contract administration, and design coordination aspects of the large projects within the education sector.
