Patrick McKenzie holds a Master's of Science in Geography and a Bachelor of Science in Geography and Biology from the University of South Carolina. He conducted his master's thesis research on the everyday impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on citizens and refugees living in Amman, Jordan. His undergraduate thesis research examined the displacement of the indigenous Ngobe community of Nance del Risco by the Chan-75 dam in Panama. He previously worked as a Stanton Nuclear Security Researcher at the Arab Institute for Security Studies in Amman, Jordan, studying the feasibility of a regional nuclear fuel cycle in the Middle East, while undertaking an intensive Arabic learning program under the David L. Boren Scholarship. He is currently working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant while completing a PhD in Anthropology at the University of Colorado Boulder.
