I started with a fire department when I was 17 years old. At the time I thought it was just something cool, but quickly realized I really enjoyed helping others. I spent the next 10 years with 3 fire departments in the area. During that time I learned a lot that I try to use today. I started with Cherokee Nation Businesses in early 2005 as a poker dealer. I learned a lot as I assisted as a tournament director and went through a hospitality and gaming operations training. During my time with poker and blackjack, I left the fire department as I could not devote the time as I had before. I then went to security where I could put my trainings from the fire department to good use. I then moved to the special events and dignitary protection side. While working with special events and the dignitary protection team, I got to assist with a wide variety high profile security details. I then had the opportunity to move to another property where I quickly moved in to a leadership role. The next several years I assisted with updating a variety of trainings, from emergencies and evacuations to the active shooter training for security and non-security personnel. I also assisted with developing a tracking system that helped forecast call volume for the property. At the same time I was also the site administrator for the website that the property's security department used and became a NRA Pistol Instructor and a Glcok Armorer. I have now moved to a different opportunity within the security industry and look forward for more ways to learn and as always, helping others.
