After graduating from UC Davis as a Veterinary Doctor in 1986 Dr. Melese moved back to San Diego (his home town) and worked for various practices as an associate veterinarian for several years. For several more years Dr. Melese filled in as a relief Veterinarian for dozens of veterinary practices throughout San Diego County before purchasing the Tierrasanta Veterinary Hospital in 1994.
