I spent 25 years with Pella Corporation where I most recently held the position of President and CEO. What some people may not know is that I began my career with Pella working as the second shift supervisor. It was a good place to start and a good fit. My father was a mechanical engineer, so I understand construction and how things go together. Over time, I developed a knack for being able to walk through a plant and quickly understand the operation and how to improve it. Many people assisted, taught, and guided me as I climbed the ladder to the top of the organization. Because of that, I developed a leadership style that centered on people first with a commitment to continuous improvement. It was important to me that everyone in the company understood that their work mattered and that it was vital to the strategic plan.It was during this time that I served as a mentor to people in the company, helping them identify and achieve their goals. Mentoring had a powerful impact on me, so it was only natural to give back and help others succeed.I thrive on leading a team and helping Executives become better versions of themselves.
