About Patrick Midgley, Ph.D.

Patrick Midgley is a seasoned consultant with experience leading high-performance teams meeting the most demanding professional standards for innovation, communication, and collaboration. Currently, in his work with Eagle Hill Consulting, Patrick helps EHC's clients navigate challenges involving project management, change management, strategic communications, team building, and core values.Previously, Patrick worked as one of America’s most accomplished and experienced professional Shakespearean actors, teachers and researchers at the American Shakespeare Center (ASC). Patrick and his creative teams produced and delivered hundreds of complex products requiring crisp, clear communication, split-second timing, unbreakable deadlines and intimate team-member collaboration in the demanding environment of live professional theater. During that time, Patrick also served as the Education Director for two consecutive year-long national tours with the ASC, delivering workshops at more than 25 US colleges and universities.Patrick’s teaching, coaching, and collaboration skills were honed by his experiences as a teacher and director at Western Washington University, Purdue University, Texas Tech University, The College of Wooster, and other leading institutions. His commitment to excellence in the classroom in particular was recognized with Purdue University's Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award and the American Association for Theatre in Higher Education Award for Innovation in Graduate Research and Teaching. A tenacious and skilled analyst and writer, Patrick was appointed the first ever Presidential Fellow in the Fine Arts at Texas Tech University, where he received his Ph.D. for his work on the American playwright Eugene O’Neill. The quality and depth of his research and publications earned Patrick the prestigious Travis Bogard Artist-in-Residence Fellowship awarded by the Eugene O’Neill Foundation. In addition, Patrick delivered workshops and research presentations at the American University of Dubai, Northen Ireland University--Galway, the Modern Languages Association (MLA) Convention, the Comparative Drama Conference, and many others. Patrick is a life-long athlete and long-time CrossFit athlete with an extensive competitive experience and coaching resume. Recent highlights include placing 3rd worldwide and 1st in the United States in the men's 40-44 division of the 2024 CrossFit Games Open.
