In my case it was the desire to retrofit a recreational vehicle with solar power, but I simply could not afford the price of the solar panels. An avid fan of the Do-it-Yourself mode of operating, I researched methods for handcrafting solar panels to include learning basic electrical theory at Mike Holt Industries. Over time I continued to refine my methods until I was able to achieve consistent results and the ability to handcraft solar panels capable of challenging those manufactured in factories. The design I arrived at is simple yet durable, and the resulting solar panels are in service on my own home and in use for special applications at job sites, camping, and survival kits. . I recognized that handcrafting solar panels is a new skill for many enthusiasts, perhaps so new that it would intimidate many from attempting this useful craft and therefore I knew I had to provide an easy to follow methodology. To address this concern I wrote an eBook (345 pages) complete with 114 photos, 111 illustrations, and immediate access to exclusive "How-to" videos accessible directly from the book by scanning VQR bar codes linked to my YouTube page. I designed solar panel kits, the SKY-DIY Series (rhymes with tie-die) which contain all the internal components needed to handcraft a completely functional solar panel. Providing protection for the newly deployed Pershing 2 and Nike Hercules tactical nuclear weapons during the Cold War. As an M60 machine gunner I often worked in concert with the K-9 units patrolling the forest perimeter. I attended Patrol Dog Handler Course and earned "Honor Graduate" and was stationed at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas for the remainder of my tour of active duty. The mission of my unit was combat arms meaning we trained for combat roles such as prisoner of war processing and convoy escort. My was part of our nation's Rapid Deployment Force designed to be in combat anywhere on the globe within 24-hours and as such my unit was deployed to the Honduras for a 90-day mission. When not in the field or on assignment we spent one week per month performing garrison Police duties, the law enforcement for the military installation. Show less
