Responsible for managing and interacting with a team of 50 environmental consultants and 5 regional managers to support underwriting environmental insurance policies on a national basis and head up special projects program. Perform engineering assessments (Phase I) on commercial & industrial manufacturing facilities, health care facilities, contractor operation exposures, contaminated properties, casualty risk, transportation, products liability & long term remediation monitoring. Review Phase II assessments and perform site surveys in support of high risk accounts. Initiated evaluation of several important topics including; emerging contaminants, remedial & innovative technologies and Natural Resources Damage. Worked with Johns Hopkins in assessing our companies work products and identifying potential future liabilities in the environmental field. Initiated underwriter training on a variety of topics including; geology, hydrogeology, pipelines, mold issues, silica exposures, federal regulations including RCRA, CERCLA. Underground storage tanks, commercial properties, TSDF, Clean Air Act, asbestos and landfills. Interact with EPA, CDC/NIOSH and state environmental agencies.

Responsible for performing & evaluating environmental risk assessments on pre-binding and post binding insurance policies for the New York office. Performed site visits and desk top reviews on commercial & industrial manufacturing facilities, contractor projects, contaminated properties & casualty risk assessments. Specifically involved in evaluating manufacturing operations that were impacted with petroleum & solvent contamination and their conformance to state and federal regulations.Performed assessments of several specialty risks including, mining, chemical manufacturing (organic peroxide, pesticides, chlorine, polymers, ethelene oxide), pipelines, paint manufacturing, TSDFs, landfills, pharmaceuticals, CERCLA sites, petroleum bulk storage facilities.

Performed underwriting analysis for the purpose of insurance policies for the New York region. This includes evaluation of fixed site facilities for Pollution Legal Liability insurance, contractors for projects and operational coverage and storage tank coverage. Interact with insured's and brokers to obtain information and underwrite the account. Evaluate, rate and bind accounts following company guidelines while interacting with the NY Regional Manger. Participate in site surveys, meetings and desktop reviews to gain information during the underwriting process.

Evaluate & manage environmental insurance claims on pollution legal liability policies for a major insurance company in Chicago. Effort was focused on determining the necessity of remedial tasks, regulatory requirements and effectiveness of the clean up.

Inspection of petroleum storage tanks in relation to NY State Bulk Storage Facility regulations. This included large bulk facilities, commercial & industrial locations. Responded to surface and subsurface petroleum spills within the county as a representative of the health department. Implemented and assisted in directing clean up efforts with the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation.

Protection of property and visitor safety and responded to calls within the park. Patrolled parks with 4x4, dirt bikes & horses, Interact with park visitors and provide information as needed. Participated and certified as a Police Trainer in Nassau County. Participated in several mounted police training programs with NYC.

Participate in forest thinning program on both state & privet ranch operations in Ovando, MT. Trees were selected, cut & skidded to staging area. Selection of trees was based on a thinning formula and all trees were felled up hill to preserve log integrity.
