Nearly 40 years of experience as an enterprising and team-building Athletic Director, managing a program of 150 interscholastic teams across 16 sports in grades four through 12. Emphasized the quality of experience for student athletes while striving for championship success and maximum participation. Proficient in communication to establish connection and collaboration with program constituents; parents, faculty, coaches, and student-athletes. Planned and served as guide in two languages for over 30 international trips including France, Canada, Germany, Japan, Spain, Italy and the UK. Collaborated in the creation of athletic budgets, strategic plans, and admission strategies for athletes. The history of Patrick’s tenure as Athletic Director is nothing less than the history of Athletics at Viewpoint. During this time, Viewpoint teams have won 23 CIF championships,180 Upper School Varsity League championships, nine CIF All-Academic Team honors, three CIF State Championships, and a CIF Commissioner’s Cup. He is recognized throughout our league and our independent school community for his expertise, wisdom, relationships, and character, and he has helped establish Viewpoint as an important player and a leader in school athletics. Patrick’s values and priorities as an Athletic Director reflect our school's core values and our caring, connected culture, which has been reflected in his career as a teacher, coach, and leader. His work teaching French throughout his years at Viewpoint reflects a model of teacher-coach and scholar-athlete that is foundational in our profession. Patrick has embodied the “double goal coach”—with a focus on teaching life lessons as well as winning—reflecting our educational values. He has been an advocate for experiential learning and for diversity and inclusion, not only in sport but also in his leadership and chaperoning of international trips. In 2024, Patrick took on a Director of Special Projects role at Viewpoint School to strategically guide and grow its alumni relations and international trips programs, among other initiatives.
