Having just been part of my successful exit strategy from my last company I believe no amount of book learning can prepare you for the journey both mentally and financially to get over the line. Now rested and recharged I would like to help others achieve similar success. I am currently updating my skills in corporate governance and have extensive experience of boardrooms and strategy planning. After 20 years at Checkmate Fire Solutions Ltd I decided to hang up my boots and take a career break. Having helped the company grow to one of the biggest passive fire protection providers in the country it occurred to me to be a good time to leave and concentrate on spending quality time the other most important thing in my life.. my wife and family. Working with various companies, I have worked in all aspects of the passive fire protection industry gaining over 25 years experience. Working with my partners, we have grown Checkmatefire into a highly respected company, that is relevant to the current needs of our many bluechip clients

Joined the company to help bring expertise and growth to the fledgling fire stopping division the company had just started. By focusing on quality, reliability and customer service we achieved annual turnover in excess of £1m in my period. Before leaving to take up my next role I succeeded in developing a functional team of managers and installers to give the company the platform to grow into a significant operator in the construction market today.
