Dr. Patrick Mäder is both Head of Assay Development and Validation and Head of the in chemico Department (HPLC) at Bioassay GmbH (Heidelberg, Germany). Heading the Department of Assay Development and Validation, he is focusing on all development and validation activities of in vitro (potency) assays to bring the in vitro potency assays in a GMP-compliant status. Heading the in chemico Department (HPLC), he is focusing on all HPLC analytics conducted under GLP and GMP, including method development and validation, routine analysis, and conduction of OECD in chemico assays such as DPRA (OECD 442C).Before joining Bioassay GmbH, he spent 2 years as a Head of Laboratory (Medicinal Chemistry) at Endotherm GmbH, a CRO based in Saarbruecken (Germany). Dr. Patrick Mäder graduated in Pharmacy (2012) and in Chemistry (2013) from the Philipps University Marburg (Germany). In 2013, he started his Ph.D. thesis in Medicinal Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Dr. M. Schlitzer. He received his Ph.D. degree in 2016 for his achievements in the synthesis and evaluation of novel chemical entities against the neglected tropical disease schistosomiasis. Afterwards, he spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow with Prof. K.-H. Altmann at ETH Zürich (Switzerland), where he has been involved in several medicinal chemistry projects, such as development of selective endocannabinoid reuptake inhibitors or mycolactone analogs.
