Responsible for rate indications and rate studies for commercial lines and other specialty lines of business.

Assist in managing the Bank’s stress test process from beginning to end. Some of my specific responsibilities included: oversight of the development and validation of the Bank’s production models, credit loss models and ALM/prepayment models and projection of the Bank’s capital position under various economic scenarios. Other responsibilities included working on developing the Bank’s economic capital models, setting budgeted capital projections, and conducting Excel and VBA trainings.

Analyzing funding needs and loss reserve adequacy studies for property casualty insurance companies. A great deal of my work has been focused on alternative markets such as captive insurance companies, self-insureds and companies making 831(b) elections. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: rate indication calculations, industry studies for purposes of benchmarking, expert witness research and client/project management.

Communicated with staff and students that requested insurance industry data. Used AM Best and SNL databases to secure the requested data. Used excel to manipulate the data in order to create consolidated reports.

Worked with the Large Account Pricing Tools team. Ran impact analysis of implementing an updated risk based return model on the current retrospective policy book of business. I reported these results to executive management via a powerpoint presentation and was given a “spot award” for my efforts. Ran claim frequency analysis on workman’s compensation policies for industry competitors and reported my findings via powerpoint presentation and memorandums. Participated in the actuarial training program that totaled approximately 40 hours of training in multiple business units and competencies.

Received thorough training on life insurance products. Mapped out the location of company knowledge management documentation. Read through the documents in an effort to update out-of-date information/terminology. Suggested relocation for certain documents that appeared to be out-of-place.
