About Patrick Newton
As a leader with several years of experience working in educational institutions, I have had the good fortune to collaborate with policymakers, school administrators, teachers, and students on improving the performance of schools. I have exhibited my leadership as a school teacher, instructional coach, grade level and content chair, curriculum writer, and as Nashville Regional Director of the Urban Leaders Fellowship. Furthermore, I have developed my leadership skills by participating in a variety of fellowships including the Green Fellowship, Urban Leaders Fellowship, James Madison Fellowship, and Teach for America. While I continue to teach in the classroom, I want to make a larger impact on public education by supporting public policies that benefit my students, co-workers, and families. My mission is to serve student populations that have been traditionally underserved by society through the creation of innovative policies that can be implemented well by educators.
