Contract Value: $255 Million.The City of Seattle, Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) Ship Canal Water Quality Project – Tunnel Storage (Project) will be a 14,000 foot long, approximately 19 foot diameter underground storage tunnel for combined sewer overflow storage along with associated shafts, connections to existing facilities and a microtunnel beneath the Lake Washington Ship Canal. The storage tunnel will allow for improved water quality within the ship canal by preventing sewer overflow events into the canal during storm events. At-surface project work will include site mobilization; implementation of temporary erosion and sediment controls; site clearing, grubbing, demolition; operation of water treatment systems; jet grouting and dewatering support of excavation for shaft, drop structure and diversion structure; construction of shaft and associated structures; utility work; and site restoration.
