Gonzaga University is an exemplary learning community that educates students for lives of leadership and service for the common good.I initially came to Gonzaga as a CAD Technician in 1998, but quickly moved into a customer support role and eventually was asked by the Dean to interview for the System Administrator position.The infrastructure had significantly deteriorated by the time I took over the position, so I led a number of network improvement initiatives to bring it back up to speed.Today, I lead technical operations, support, and projects with staff of 3 overseeing 60 servers, 700 workstations with 1,500 students and 97 different pieces of software and $230,000 budget.When the pandemic hit, I took charge by being very proactive with our technology. I ordered new webcams before the lockdowns to prepare for remote learning and increased our software licensing numbers so the entire University could provide the needed software to our 10,000 students.I also teach and manage our engineering machine shop and electronic labs.
