I correct and maintain the quality of the Patient Care Records (PCR) to reduce the percentage of claims being denied by commercial, Medicare and Medicaid (AHCCCS) payers. I am responsible for managing the accuracy of over 720 transports per day, which translates to over $273 million in annual billable accounts. I work closely with general and assistant-general managers and supervisors of the billing, dispatch and operations departments to improve training, accuracy and compliance with national ambulance billing standards and practices as outlined by Arizona Dept. of Health and Human services, Medicare and Rural Metro company's policies for Central Arizona. I am also called upon to make informal presentations for visiting regional directors, consultants and analysts regarding our processes for tracking and reporting. I have also collaborated with a small team to produce updated training guidelines and practices for various positions within our department. As aspects of the department's responsibilities have changed I have lead the team to create solutions and develop processes with the most efficient means of adding or transitioning to the new responsibilities, and how our department will communicate with other departments to have the best practices possible.

Student class size was limited to 60 students and I usually had a schedule of 2 classes per day three times a week.The students would have a lecture written by me within the course curriculum outlined by ASMT. Then the students would spend the remaining time practicing the techniques in class. Tests were written and administered by me, and hands on testing was overseen by me and my Teaching Assistant(s).
