As a mentor with the EI mentorship scheme, I work with a number of start up companies in the west of Ireland. Providing support and advice on the financial and strategic aspects of their businesses.

Under my leadership this company evolved from a local contractor to become the major supplier of Mechanical Engineering Services in the West of Ireland with a strong presence nationally. I planned and delivered a major expansion of the business. Individual contract size increased from €200k to €2m. Total company turnover went from from €3m p.a. to €15m. The major focus of my work was on: Strategic development of the business. Marketing, with special focus on public sector tenders. Fleet administration, Human resources, Property management. Managing Subcontractors.

A successful construction and property development business, with turnover in excess of €60m. Responsible for IT and HR as well as Finance. 9 direct reports.

This company produced TV series and also provided scripting services to other producers.My responsibilities included Management and Financial Accounts. Liaising with funders. Management of staff. Responsibility for all statutory, agency and tax reporting.My achievements in the role: Securing €2m in section 481 finance. Arranging asset finance for film equipment.

A London based telecoms engineering contractor, providing services to BT, Cable and Wireless and COLT telecommunications. We grew this business from a £3m turnover to £20m in 3 years, employing 200 staff. My major contribution was in securing finance through invoice discounting to support this growth, and developing accounting systems to manage the fast growing business.
