Primary School Teacher
Working as a Primary School Teacher during a global pandemic has allowed me to excel in my time management, organisation, and resilience. I have had the opportunity to plan and teach lessons, whilst deploying support staff. Working within such an intense work environment has developed not only my communication skills with co-workers but my ability to cope in ever-changing circumstances. This role was demanding as I had to not only take responsibility for myself, but the 30 children I was teaching each day.Through effective behaviour management systems, I encourage my class to feel responsibility and autonomy. To maintain a safe and positive learning environment I use multiple reward systems to promote good behaviour and I focus on engaging all the children in the class. I integrate the use of verbal feedback, stickers, and opportunities to help in the classroom. Positive praise and reinforcements underpin my behaviour management, promoting the development of self-esteem and confidence amongst the children. As an example of this, if I feel that my class are too energised for their current activity, I am happy to quickly give them an activity which will harness that energy and put it to use. During periods of home learning, I have presented zoom calls for my class and also have experience with using Seesaw to create and set activities. I am confident with all new technology and also have experience coding. During my previous placements, I have planned in the use of iPads to enhance learning in my classroom, and I make good use of the interactive whiteboard, encouraging the children to develop their skills and confidence through regular use.
Fashion Stylist
Levi’s excels in delivering excellent customer service and high-level stylising to contribute to the customer getting the best out of their experience in store, each customer that came into store would receive an extremely professional and exceptional 1-2-1 experience that puts the customer first. Within this role I was tasked with maintaining this high level of customer service whilst simultaneously hitting regular targets every day to guarantee success in the store, whilst working within this store my customer service skills have thrived in an extremely competitive scene and I have excelled at being one of the top stylist that Levi’s has to offer, after being only one of the two temporary stylists kept on out of a possible 20, after the busy Christmas period. This is due to my confidence, work ethic, and success in sales. I believe all my skills are transferable due to the amount of time spent in extremely busy situations over the Christmas period, the personal level of discussion with customers and the enthusiasm I am willing to put into my work.During my time at Levi’s during the Christmas period, it was not unusual for me to be the most senior member of staff on the shop floor, and so I had to essentially act as a supervisor and help the store run smoothly in the absence of the hierarchy. Taking on this role has given me the confidence and intelligence to deliver customer service to anyone and everyone and communicate the correct store intention, whilst maintaining an extremely positive and professional attitude every shift, no matter the circumstances.
Sales Assistant
The experience gained from working within a retail store within such a fast-paced environment, required me to develop my previous existing retail skills and hone them to become sharp around the store. Due to the nature of train stations, during certain hours you would get various types of customers all needing assistants, from which I have learned to deal with customers in an efficient way whilst fairly distributing the consistent customer service. In Piccadilly I rotated from three different stations upon request and ran convenience stores independently. I gained the experience of taking out regular security checks regarding station security and had regular safety briefings. Stock rotation was a regular occurrence and required on occasion taking loaded trolleys around the store from the stockroom to either station. This role has made me comfortable in any customer service environment and more than capable to work efficiently within a team, offering confident and excellent customer engagement.
Sales Assistant
Within this job role my main responsibilities were to deliver excellent customer service and support my colleagues whilst displaying a desire to learn and progress through a constantly changing store. My role at Superdrug was about serving customers mostly at till point where I gained great experience at delivering excellent customer service and encouraging add on sales. Also, within this role I was tasked with ensuring that the store was always well merchandised, and a high level of store presentation was always maintained, whilst also supporting management in hitting vital store targets.I excelled in this environment, by helping all customers with any request I can whilst also upholding the reputation of the company as professional as I can. Working in customer service is about being approachable, knowledgeable, and helpful, whilst equally maintaining high energy throughout the shift to give the best quality of service to each customer that walks through the door, and these are the skills that I know I can bring to your company also.
