Exciting challenge to offset soaring energy prices

I assist the management worker and Treasurer with book-keeping: journals, payroll, the business plan and budgets. As a member of the finance committee since the early 1990s, I have been involved ion the finance function of the organisation. I have overseen the budgeting and financing of a major works programme. During this time I have been Treasurer for several terms of office.

Maintaining accounts and payroll for a small, grant-funded educational charity that provides free advocacy for the parents of children excluded from school. I was responsible for accounts payable and negotiation of rent and other utilities. There were nine employees, I successfully implemented RTI and improved the monitoring of funds in Quickbooks using its class function. I provided the budget and associated figures for a recent successful Big Lottery Grant. I also provide the data for funders’ yearly and periodic grant monitoring.

I established the accounting and payroll system and procedures for a unique export-led manufacturer. I left the accounts function in early 2000 but continued to provide the payroll function until 2005. I returned as a freelancer as an external auditor during the company’s successful applications for ISO 9001 2008 and 2015 standards.

Maintaining the accounts and payroll for a small café/bar chain. The number of employees was approx 60, of which 40 were weekly paid with variable hours and tips. Responsible for accounts payable and negotiating terms and prices.Operational and administrative duties: maintenance contracts, H&S, IT; corresponding with HMRC, FSA, maintaining corporate files. I had been an admin and accounts assistant within the Freud group until the book-keeper’s departure in 2004. I took over the financial control for the group of companies of which Secession was a part.
