 Manage both the Global Backup & Scheduling team and the Tandem Nonstop team.  The Global Backup & Scheduling team consists of a daily operations team and an architecture team. Responsible for over 800,000 jobs that run daily utilizing UC4 and over 7,000 daily backups utilizing Veeam enterprise backup solution. Develop, administer, and tracked a 2M capital budget, 1M staffing budget and a 2.9M maintenance budget. Research and implement new technologies. Negotiate hardware and software purchases as well as maintenance contracts. Responsible for data protection on all global servers.  Manage and Protect multiple copies or server data. Set appropriate maintenance strategies to ensure complete Data Protection. Team Leadership & Supervision Staff Management: Hire, train and supervise multiple global teams that provide Data protection, Job scheduling, and manufacturing processes.  Strategic Planning: Provide vision, leadership, and strategic direction for multiple business units within PPG. Develop roadmaps and maintain currency on hardware and software solutions, capabilities, and technical advancements.  System Integrations/Migrations: Project-managed large-scale initiatives involving the transition of programs and applications to new server platforms as well as the merger of disparate systems from acquired client companies. Enterprise Implementations: Directed and implemented a new global backup strategy for all of PPG. IT Management: Manage both the Unix/Linux team and the Tandem Nonstop team that supports both hardware and software for over 500+ servers.  Develop, administer, and tracked a 1.2M capital budget, 1M staffing budget and a 1.9M maintenance budget. Research new technologies and calculate future needs to achieve accurate capacity planning.  Negotiate hardware and software purchases as well as maintenance contracts. Develop, implement, and monitor service level agreements with staff and customers ensuring compliance and quick resolution of specific issues. Achieved 99% system availability and 98% customer satisfaction for 9 years. Created and implemented disaster recovery plans and procedures for all servers that house mission critical applications. The recovery is tested on a monthly basis rotating through different business unit’s servers and applications. Set appropriate maintenance strategies to ensure uninterrupted systems usage and that proper backup and recovery procedures are adhered. Team Leadership & Supervision Staff Management: Hire, train and supervise a 10-member team providing HPUX, AIX, Tandem Nonstop, and Redhat administration.
