Ring ditches and other possible ancient features of interest were also located, marked, and recorded on same satellite images using similar GIS methods. Excavations and Post-Field Analysis: Dug shovel tests spaced ten meters apart and plotted along intersecting north-south and east-west lines using a total station, excavated trenches within and along ring ditch within forest isle. Created maps of the excavation sites and verified their locations with GPS, Excel spreadsheets of shovel test pit data, and co-wrote the field season report in English and Spanish with encompassing analyses after giving a presentation in Spanish to the local community about our work and its importance not only to the history and heritage of the area and a deeper understanding of the human story, but also for the direct practical application of revolutionary and revelatory yet ancient agricultural techniques, fishery practices, and possible anthropogenic soil rejuvenation or preservation/conservation from nutrient depletion.
