Patrick Faure created Faurism (’fôrĭzǝm) to describe a visual arts style that expresses the convergence of dreams, sexual desire, and knowledge into a single art form. It is characterised by the juxtaposition of mythical phantasms and modern imagery. Faurism is deeply rooted in Greek philosophy and modern astrophysics. The first Faurism works are paintings such as The Temple of Mars, The Death of Hector, or Because she is a woman. These controversial and graphic paintings are highly critical of the addiction of humanity to war, and challenge the oppression of women in our society.With the seven painting series Phantasm of Existence, Patrick Faure establishes the direct link between our planet and the cosmos in an uncomfortable vision inspired by Olaf Stapleton’s Star Maker. Wings of Fascism confronts the audience with the chilling reality that neither unrestrained technology nor extra-terrestrial life are benign. It states that our encounter with cosmic matter has already taken place and has always had catastrophic consequences. Patrick Faure’s newest works, a series named Agnoiaphobia, again confronts the viewer with our inability to understand our past and our impotence to define an uncertain future. The works explore a variety of media outside of the painting frame. Patrick Faure regularly introduces live performances, such as Templo Martis Ultori.
