Patrick Robinson was previously in charge of the British Columbia investment advisory operations for BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. and sat on the executive committee that set policy across the firm. The Robinson Sauder family has deep historical ties to the Canadian investment community and the British Columbia timber industry through Sauder Industries and Interfor Corporation. As a private family office, the investment mandate of RSFO is relatively flexible and internally defined. Downside protection and absolute investment returns are key attributes of the investment focus of RSFO. The investment team at RSFO also includes four former members of a previous Vancouver based proprietary trading and investment operation of RBC Capital Markets.

Arius Technology is a leader in laser-based optical scanning systems for three-dimensional digitization of art and antiquities, reproduction, documentation, inspection and reverse engineering.Its flagship product, the Arius3D™ Identik™ 300R auto-synchronized spot laser scanner, is the only 3D scanner using direct laser colour measurement to quantify and collect points containing both geometry and colour. Arius is a privately held Canadian company headquartered in both Vancouver, Canada and London, England. The fine art market includes both masterpieces from museums around the world, as well as contemporary art from current artists. The company is also designing a proprietary portable motion system to move the scanner, by computer control, in front of a vertically mounted painting.

In January 2016, Vitaeris was formed and immediately went to work on licensing the drug Clazakizumab ("Claza") from Alder Biopharmaceuticals Inc. of Bothell Washington. Claza was discovered and developed by Alder to the end of a Phase 2A Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) study in the clinical indications of Rheumatoid Arthritis (“RA”) and Cancer therapy until 2009, when a partnership with BristolMyers Squibb (“BMS”) was consummated in November of that year. In August of 2014 BMS returned the global rights to Alder due to strategic portfolio reprioritization. Alder is focusing its resources on developing and commercializing its Phase 3 migraine-prevention treatment ALD403, and decided to out-license Claza. Alder endorsed Vitaeris’ proposal to explore Claza for new purposes where unmet medical needs exist. From discovery to where the program stands today, well over US $100 million has been spent by Alder and BMS directly on Claza. The safety of Claza has been established in global clinical studies involving well over one thousand patients. Progress to date includes reviewing a clinical treatment opportunity in severe asthma through discussions with leading medical experts, reviewing other potential clinical uses for Claza, structuring the license with Alder, raising further financing as required under the license, building our team and IT infrastructure, and beginning to prepare for clinical trials later this year. In 2017 our investigations lead us to another potential usage in kidney failure and kidney transplantation which culminated in a collaborative development agreement with CSL Behring of Australia. Several kilograms of clinical-grade (GMP) supply has been produced and is available to Vitaeris (more than enough to supply studies needed to get Claza to FDA approval). The intellectual property covering the composition of matter of Claza is secured until at least 2033.
