At Sussman, I focused on real estate, environmental and natural resources law, in particular: 1) the purchase and sale of real property and businesses in which environmental issues were in play, such as legacy contamination, including groundwater and hazardous waste contamination and litigation over these issues, and 2) outlining and implementing effective strategies for obtaining the land use approvals needed for various development projects.I advised clients and negotiated on their behalf regarding environmental laws, including those relevant to contaminated properties, land use and water quality matters. I have extensive knowledge of CERCLA and the Clean Water Act and their state law equivalents and litigated matters in court and before EPA and state environmental agencies.
