My name is Patrick Rose, and I am a graduate of Western Michigan University’s Haworth College of Business majoring in Accounting and minoring in General Business. My goal is to pursue a career in corporate accounting in and around Livingston County. From my work and college experience, I have many transferable skills:Professionalism: As a current staff member of an NCAA Division I team, there is a lot of proficiency that goes into my work. Every road trip to every home game, there is that level of expertise that is needed. Road trips are the most demanding because I, along with the team and the staff, must represent our school and team with respect. Professionalism affects me in class as well. I am always on time and pay attention through the period. I try my hardest to hold myself to a high standard of professionalism.Time Management: Being a student of Haworth College of Business, they hold all their classes to a high standard. I always turn in homework/projects before the due date. Time management also affects my work life heavily, because everything I do has a deadline. For hockey, there are a lot of individual tasks that must be done on game days before the game begins. Time management is a big deal to me because being pressed for time or trying to play catch up is less effective.I am always looking for ways to strengthen and expand upon my professional network.
