Working on 3D brain volume project to create a neural prosthetic that can trigger memory reformation. Current role is creating a Python project that creates meshes for a 3D point cloud of the rat dentate gyrus to create surfaces, ultimately with the purpose of orienting the cells properly in the hippocampal volume, creating a more precise model for placing electrodes for the prosthestic. Learning to use existing methods for surface reconstruction and evaluating what will work best, including Provably Good Moving Least Squares, Poisson Surface Reconstruction, 3D Scattered Data Interpolation and Approximation with Multilevel Compactly Supported RBFs, Approximating and Intersecting Surfaces from Points, and Streaming Surface Reconstruction using Wavelets.
