Patrick Saunders-Hastings is an epidemiologist risk scientist working with Accenture. With expertise in pandemic preparedness and response, pharmacoepidemiology and public health planning, Patrick combines quantitative and qualitative methodologies to provide clients with sophisticated data analysis and strategy development services.Patrick supports evidence-based decision-making for clients from the public and private sector. His past projects have included safety and effectiveness assessments and market analyses for pharmaceutical products, national implementations of health information systems and technical services to support climate change adaptation projects. Recently, he has worked extensively with clients across North America to support their response to the COVID-19 pandemic.Patrick has a B.Sc. in Biology from Queen's University, a M.Sc. in Global Health from the Brighton and Sussex Medical School and a Ph.D. in Population Health from the University of Ottawa. His doctoral research involved the development of a mathematical model to assess the preparedness of Canadian hospitals to accommodate surges in patient demand associated with future pandemics. He also holds a certificate in risk-based decision making for public and population health, and teaches Global Health Governance at Carleton University.
