Their transatlantic engagement continues throughout their careers with GMF alumni projects, seminars, and major events.

Organized research and conducted meetings and briefings with principal actors in the maritime trade sector in China (Beijing, Shanghai, and Xiamen) in order to better understand and coordinate maritime trade flows to and from Pacific and Gulf ports, and the geo-strategic role that the Paso del Norte region plays in this commerce. Meetings included representatives of Shanghai Shipping Exchange, Shanghai International Port Group – Yangshan Port, Shanghai International Shipping Institute, representatives from the US Department of Commerce, the Port of Vancouver and Canadian Pacific Rail, as well as the Mexican Ambassador. For this visit, the Hunt Institute published a report on US - China Maritime Trade Flows and the Hinterland Commodity Flows through the Paso del Norte region.
