Direct team of 6 in Accounting, Human Resources, & Information Technology. Executing merger of Club & POA to form one entity. Initiated installation of electronic HR software for paperless onboarding and benefit enrollment. Reviewing paperless AP software solutions to improve control & reduce storage costs. Performing cross functional review of processes to improve financial reporting and performance.

A new restaurant-and-dining-focused division of Related Urban, the mixed-use arm of New York-based Related Companies. Reporting to CEO, diverse functional responsibility including accounting, legal, banking, insurance, human resources, & strategic planning. Direct Team of 5 in the financial activities, including Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable of two hospitality venues located Hudson Yards (HY). Asset management & advisory role for 6 hospitality tenants in HY & Time Warner Center.• Drive digital transformation to streamline processes & minimize manual transactions into single accounting platform, standardize chart of accounts, poll from point-of-sale system for daily reporting, implement Concur T&E software & eliminate redundant software. • Engage cost segregation analyst to accelerate depreciation and generate tax savings.• Evaluate & develop formal accounting controls, process narratives & SOPs.• Execute multiple PPP loan applications; implement tracking to ensure maximum loan forgiveness.

Reporting to CFO, direct team of five controllers in the financial activities of major entertainment, dining & night life company (Revenue of $340M) with venues in six major markets including 2 international management contracts. Upskilling for continuous improvement to attain 5 day hard close.• Collaborate on consolidated financial statements for 14 venues & 19 management contracts.• Monthly review of balance sheet, cash flow & income statement with venue management and controller.• Perform due diligence reporting to complete transaction with Tao & Madison Square Garden (MSG).• Establish GAAP reporting standards during transition from private company to division of publicly held firm including Revenue Recognition (ASC 606) and Lease Standards (ASC 842).• Work directly with MSG Internal Audit team to implement SOX related processes & control framework.• Prepare quarterly analysis & schedules for MSG 10Q & 10K filings.

As part of Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group, coordinate period end closing process including financial statements, variance analysis, cash flow and balance sheet review for four businesses including 2 Blue Smoke restaurants, Jazz Standard jazz club and off-premises catering, Porchlight bar, and licensing agreements. Monthly review of financial statements & KPIs with restaurant managers. Direct annual budgeting and rolling 90-day forecasts. • Automate reporting process to reduce staffing, annual overhead savings $100K.• Implement menu engineering analysis, estimated annual savings of 0.5% in food cost.• Successfully shortened period end closing from 10 to 6 working days.• Maintain construction budgeting and analysis for 2 project openings. • (8/09-12/09) Interim Controller Union Square Events Off-premises catering & contract food service firm.

Oversee the business and financial operations of full service member owned country club with 18 hole A.W. Tillinghast designed course, full restaurant and catering facilities, and pool. Direct the financial management for 3 privately held food-service companies with revenues exceeding $40 million. Company operations included food service for businesses, college campuses, state run facilities, consulting, off-premises catering and QSR franchises (Baja Fresh). • Improved cash flow, shortening contact billing from 25 to 12 days. • Revised contract format on subsidized accounts to bill in advance, improving cash flow by 45 days.• Performed proforma calculations for successful purchase of catering business for existing debt, and integrated into existing accounting structure without additional staffing.
