I was selected from my masters program to undertake an internship at the Danish Institute Against Torture, whilst there, I worked with the legal department on a range of issues, particularly focusing on psychological torture. I was extensively involved in researching topics of interest to the organisation, especially in the field of solitary confinement, with a view to producing a thesis analysing the European Court of Human Rights jurisprudence in cases involving solitary confinement.

Working for Australia's largest retail and corporate pension provider, I was tasked with the end to end building of complete and accurate client files for long term pension funds. This involved analysing client portfolios and pension files, as well as collating client files for audit and analysis.

Working in conjunction with mortgage brokers and solicitors regarding residential mortgage settlements across Australia.

I worked within the Investment Bank branch of UBS, specifically in the Corporate Client Solutions (CCS) department, primarily within the Leveraged Capital Markets (LCM)/Leveraged Finance area. I was in charge of updating and maintaining the LCM ‘fee tracker’, which monitored the initial fees received on corporate loans. I reported these figures directly to the Americas Co-Head of LCM for use in meetings with the Americas Head of CCS. I worked on calculating the risk weighted assets and the future expected risk weighted assets of deals as well as keeping tabs on the amount of LRD (Leverage Ratio Denominator) the Bank held. This was to ensure that we complied with both the Volcker Act (Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act) and Basel lll regulations.I was in charge of the scheduling and execution of the bi-weekly New Business Commitment Committees (NBCCs), as well as being responsible for developing and updating various terms of references for global procedures, including the collation and completion of a global terms of reference for the NBCCs. I collated and distributed the agenda and meeting packs for both the monthly CCS Americas Operating Committee, which was attended by mid-level and senior managers from all areas of the business, and the monthly CCS Americas Management and Risk Control meeting, attended by the most senior members of the business - including the Head of LCM for the Americas, the Head of CCS for the Americas, the Head of Equity and Debt Capital Markets and the Co-Heads of Mergers and Acquisitions. I was in charge of the taking and distribution of the minutes for both Committees.

I was put in charge of running an advertising campaign to promote the clinic's baby scan services. I was provided with a budget by the management and was given full responsibility to research the options and decide on a strategy of how best to proceed, which would then go to management for approval. The campaign involved close work with the advertising company to design the ads, I then negotiated directly with newspapers and magazines both North and South of the Irish border to ensure maximum exposure and the best deal possible for the company.During my time at the clinic, I was also involved in the hospital's credit control operation, following up on the non-payment of invoices (in batches of 20-30), and the supervision of the collection and collation of the essential certification and data to ensure up to date registration of the clinic’s 52 medical staff.

Working in a team of five at this 5 Star, 5 Diamond, 339 room hotel, I was involved with the purchasing and subsequent distribution of stock to all areas of the hotel's operations. Additionally, I worked to cover bespoke VIP requests for many of the hotels celebrity and high-end clientele.
