  Business Biography of Patrick ShiveBorn in Phillipsburg Pa. on July 2, 1956 Pat was raised on a dairy farm with a large family and had many experiences working with his hands and learning the physics of how things work and how to repair equipment of all kinds. By the age 23 Pat designed, Patented and manufactured a product called Hydrokentix Thermal Storage Systems. In 15 years Pat’s company became the leader in the United States of Electric Thermal Storage. Pat was commissioned by IBR Engineering Society to write and illustrate how to design and install non-pressure hydronic systems. With the deregulation of electric power system in the United States, electrical energy management and the electric thermal storage industry was no longer in demand after 1995, so pat converted his 17,500 sq. ft. manufacturing plant in 1996, to building refuse containers. In 1997 Pat established PTS Industries Corp. operating under a trade name of Dura-Kan. In 6 short years Dura-Kan had become a major player in the waste industry with a customer base that extends from Maine to Virginia thru West Virginia into Michigan. Dura-Kan has become a supplier of containers for many large and small waste hauling companies and has contracts with townships and cities such as Baltimore MD, and Plainfield NJ. to name a few and builds specialized containers for major recycling companies such as Arundel Recycling and have design and built special containers for Portsmouth NH, US Submarines repair Facility that required a 40,000 LB lift capacity for disposal of sand blast debris. PTS Industries Corp is a family run business with Pat and his Wife Jo Ellen, his son Justin, and his daughter Torrey to manage the business. Pat has 34 years of experience in designing and manufacturing and has an extreme passion and pride in the success of the business.
