Consulting and Advancy. Over the last 15+ years, my role as a Strategic Consultant has involved the management and execution of strategic advisory to Executive Leadership teams, strategy execution, performance improvement and a major project implementation role for a multi-national beverages business. Significant Projects:Advised a large multi-national FMCG business in its post-merger integration of 4 recently acquired beverage businesses, including the innovative development of a group strategic plan to maximise supply chain integration, procurement & talent synergies & business plans for each entity & the establishment of an appropriate governance structure.Responsible for the integration of two commercial teams under a single company, successfully integrating the two sales forces, establishing five new warehouses with the smooth data & logistics transition of ~3,000 customers with a third party logistics provider.Re-designed the continuous improvement process for a major casino, generating a pipeline of additional improvement opportunities equivalent to 8% of profit & commenced implementation of 3 improvement initiatives.Restructured a loss-making US business, turning a US$3m p.a. loss making business into a US$2m p.a. profit within 12 months, & more than doubled profit to over US$5m p.a. in the following 18 months.Implemented a detailed performance improvement process at an industrial products manufacturer focused on throughput, building a strong link between sales & operational planning & development of a continuous improvement process. This resulted in a 13% increase in annual throughput rate & the achievement of 95%+ schedule adherence.Completion of many M&A due diligence and negotiations on potential target companies.

This work involved the generation of a series of integrated global scenarios that included the expected supply and demand flows, impact on planned expansions, cost implications and price expectations. Global and region specific strategies were developed to take account of these environments, the client’s existing competitive advantages and the ideal longer-term path.Developed a corporate strategy for a diversified Australian resources company looking at its growth prospects. This included an assessment of the key market characteristics for each mineral group, profiling and evaluation of a proposed merger candidate, assessment of the market positioning of the merged entity, valuation, assessment of pricing and shareholder value creation potential.
