I received an extensive, yet informal, wine background from an early age. Naturally, when needing a job during college, I went to work for Spec's Wine, Spirits, & Finer Foods in 2000. My experience base skyrocketed from there. Within a year, a promotion to humidor/cigar guru was achieved and then Wine Sales Consultant within the next. When my academic education pulled me to the Bauer College of Business at University of Houston, I transferred to the corporate store in 2003. There I was gladly received as a Wine Specialist, focusing on the elusive French wine category, at the largest retail wine selection in the US. While working as a Wine Consultant at the big store, I studied courses like International Risk Management, Advanced Accounting, Energy Trading, Venture Capital, and Commercial Banking. In fact, I was told by some of my professor's that I was freakishly great with numbers and unusually fast with the application of material on exams.In 2006 I earned a degree in Business Administration of Finance from Bauer, yet couldn't help but to stay in the wine business. However, I am always interested in opportunities to grow and learn.
