About Patrick Strickland
I'm a journalist, editor, and author from Texas. My reportage has appeared at the New York Review of Books, Politico E.U., Time, The Nation, and The New Republic, among others. I have reported from around twenty countries across Europe, the Middle East, and North America. I'm also a cofounder of and editor at Long Road Magazine, a longform publication of journalism about borders. In the past, I've worked as a senior reporter at Al Jazeera English, a news editor at the Dallas Observer, a reporter at The Dallas Morning News, and an acting managing editor at Syria Deeply. I'm the author of three nonfiction books: 'Alerta! Alerta! Snapshots of Europe's Anti-Fascist Struggle' (2018); 'The Marauders: Standing Up to Vigilantes in the American Borderlands'(2022); and 'You Can Kill Each Other After I Leave: Refugees, Bloodshed, and Fascism in Greece' (exp. 2024).My short fiction has been published by Pithead Chapel, The Coachella Review, The Barcelona Review, Cowboy Jamboree, Porter House Review, and The Broadkill Review, among others.
