Member of Prof. Dawei Feng's lab in the Materials Science and Engineering department with joint Chemistry appointment:- Molecularly engineer and synthesize organic compounds for electrochemical applications in a cost-effective and sustainable manner.- Analyze the fundamental structural and electrochemcial properties of the organic materials using a wide range of analytical methods.- Conduct full battery experiments using our custom-designed flow cell prototype to demonstrate practical performance.- Design novel electrochemical systems for CO2 direct air capture (DAC), low-grade thermal heat utilization, water desalination, and electro-synthesis utilizing our molecularly engineered organic molecules.- Fabricate MOF and COF membranes for potential application in a variety of applications, including energy storage, water desalination, and ion-sensors.
