Director Of Agile Transformation
I am responsible for overseeing and driving the implementation of Scaled Agile framework (SAFe) across the organization. This role plays a pivotal part in enabling the organization to embrace Agile principles, and practices with a direct link to fostering adaptability, responsiveness, innovation, and continuous improvement.Core Responsibilities1. Leadership Alignment and Training: Maintaining leadership commitment and support while providing comprehensive training on Scaled Agile principles and methodologies. In the initial onboarding period, I structured training around full teams participating together in 4-day workshops. Once I achieved 85% of all R&D employees trained, I pivoted to a fixed schedule of training sessions, open to all. All new hires have access to Agile training within 60 days of joining.2. Agile Team Formation and Roles: Organization of Agile teams with clearly defined roles of Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Release Train Engineers (RTEs). Approx 30 teams are now established in Product Engineering.3. Cultural Shift and Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of collaboration, and continuous improvement, emphasizing Lean-Agile principles, metrics, and feedback loops. To measure success, I introduced Agile Release Trains (ART) level metrics tracking across 4 key areas – Quality, Velocity, Predictability and Business Value. A key activity is to ensure the use of Retrospectives not just at team level but also at the ART level. Consequently, over the course of 2 years the Predictable Delivery score improved from just 50% to a range consistently within 85 to 90%.4.Innovation Management: Building a culture of Innovation and bringing ideas to Production. As co-chair of our Innovation Jam Committee, once a year we hold a Jam event. The most recent, held in September had a record number of 300+ participants. I run a bi-monthly review to assess ideas submitted via our Innovation Management Portal to identify those with potential for implementation.
