Representative Experience:• Acts as key member of team that represents numerous foreign claimants in then-largest civil asset forfeiture action brought by the U.S. Department of Justice's (DOJ) Kleptocracy Asset Recovery Initiative involving alleged corruption by a former Nigerian president and his family and associates.• Since 2009, has worked on a variety of litigation matters in connection with BakerHostetler's role as court-appointed counsel to the Securities Investor Protection Act trustee, Irving H. Picard, for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC. • Counsels a multibillion-dollar global corporation on ethics and compliance matters. • Key member of team that represented a former London-based JPMorgan managing director in an investigation related to a multibillion-dollar trading loss for the bank. Team developed and executed a strategy to navigate client through parallel U.S. and U.K. investigations and secured a rare non-prosecution agreement with the DOJ and agreements with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), including one of the first non-prosecution agreements executed by the CFTC for an individual.• Assisted the former Ethical Practices Attorney of Local 14-14B of the International Union of Operating Engineers by managing a team overseeing the enforcement of a Consent Decree, including directing anti-corruption investigations and bringing disciplinary proceedings against corrupt union members.• Represented individual in connection with a high profile DOJ public corruption investigation.• Conducted anti-corruption due diligence for international provider of food, beverage and retail services for airports and motorways with regard to potential acquisition of food and beverage outlet service contracts for airports in India.
