Not a company change or a new job, just a rebrand

Assisting with an enterprise delivery for Barclays Bank, teaching JavaScript, HTML and CSS to some of their computer science graduate hires.

Varied portfolio career, working with different clients and collaborators on sometimes a daily basis. Highlights include:Regular extra work with the London Philharmonic Orchestra (from Jan 2019)- Bookings became progressively more frequent, and I gradually sat further forward within the cello section. These are both signs that I was being moved further and further up the extra list.Various film and TV recordings, but specifically solo cello on ITV’s Des (Feb 2020 / Apr 2020)- Final sessions for this were during lockdown, meaning I had to figure out, from scratch and on a limited budget, how to create a professional-grade recording space at home, and how to use all of the recording equipment and software.- Des was met with widespread critical acclaim when it was broadcast later in the year, which would demonstrate that I met this challenge successfully.Two contracts as Principal Cello for Amadeus at the National Theatre (Aug 2016 - Mar 2017; Dec 2017 - Apr 2018)- The first season garnered near-unanimous four- and five-star reviews from all of the UK’s major newspapers, and was completely sold out.Teaching work at Queen Mary, University of London (from Jan 2017)- My studio has consistently expanded in size year-on-year, with many alumni continuing to choose to learn from me after graduation.

Twelve week immersive course involving workshops, tutorials, collaborative work, daily homework and weekend projects, plus four larger projects (details below). Based primarily around the MERN stack, covering web development fundamentals on both front and back ends.Project 4: CornHubAs a group of three, we built a full-stack app with a React front end and a Python / Django / PostgreSQL back end, over the course of a week. Our app was focused on providing detailed, specific, accessible and searchable information for keen gardeners, complete with many additional features, such as CRUD functionality, authentication, reminders, PayPal integration and weather information. We tackled the majority of the challenging tasks throughout the stack as a group, saving the lesser tasks for individual work. The original concept for this project was mine - I wrote the majority of the pseudocode pre-sign off and assembled the team.Project 3: IcelanderAs a group of four, we built a full-stack MongoDB / Express / React / Node app with CRUD functionality over the course of a week, focused on helping users plan road trips around Iceland. We all worked full-stack, but my main focus was on building much of the back end functionality for the API requests, and much of the full-stack functionality for authentication and saving locations to the user profile.Project 2: Is It Worth It?48-hour hackathon. As a pair, we built out a React app using two third-party APIs, RESTCountries and TravelBriefing.org. Our app offers travel advice to users attempting to decide where to take their first post-lockdown holiday. This project was a great introduction to the finer points of pair programming, and multi-developer version control.Project 1: TetrisA one-week solo project, building a grid-based game in vanilla JavaScript without HTML canvas. This was a great opportunity to stretch my existing JavaScript skills, as well as expanding my palate of skills with CSS animations and HTML audio.
