As Manager the of the IaaS team - I plan, direct, provide leadership and coordinate the major activities of the provisioning team for the physical server, virtual server, and storage infrastructure that underlies Enterprise Services provided by WaTech. The team is comprised of technicians and engineers providing coverage 24 hours by 7 days by 365 days per year. The position is designated as the highest-level technical authority on Server and Storage Operations for large, complex storage and server platforms used by multiple State Agencies. I interact with and make recommendations to executive management on operations and other issues. Maintain professional communications with staff and customers at all times. Perform specialized expert level technical consulting, system analysis, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance for server and storage subsystems at an Enterprise level. Also responsible for ensuring that the virtual server infrastructure remains secure through the provisioning of virtual firewalls. Employ advanced technical skills and knowledge to provide consultative support for senior State project managers for projects incorporating server and storage infrastructures.

In my position, I am responsible for:• Manage all IT staff, perform appraisals, and enforce company policies and expectations.• Design, document and implement short and long term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.• Work with New Branch project team to ensure all IT related items are accounted for and completed on time and at the highest standards level .• Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and training plans for infrastructure administration and project management.• Participate in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with the Director of IT.• Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts.• Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure all infrastructure-specific products and services.• Assist with the planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures.• Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, security, wireless implementations, and so on.• Conduct feasibility studies for various upgrade projects, improvements, and other conversions.• Define hardware and software standards in conjunction with owners and stakeholders.• Test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining network infrastructure.• Test server performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining server infrastructure.• Manage operational costs; conduct short and long term financial forecasts for expanded functionality/user base.• Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization's executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent infrastructure activities.

I was responsible for the administration of network LAN/ WAN equipment. Provided on-site technical support and troubleshooting for servers, workstations, and LAN/WAN connectivity. Created and administered users and group domain accounts. Services include technical consulting, systems configuration, network installation, performance tuning, software install and updates of servers and development workstations. Provided hardware and software help desk support. Maintained and administered telecommunications equipment includes Lucent Definity PBX, handsets, PictureTel video teleconference equipment. Responsible for all multimedia equipment installations and support of front and rear projectors, lighting, and surround sound audio. I maintained daily backups of all office and client data and ensured that backups were placed in offsite storage. Maintained, tested and deployed software/OS patches. Maintained up to date virus definition database and insure all server/clients definitions were updated. Monitor LAN for security issues using sniffing software. Designed and maintained a Disaster recovery plan including analysis, prioritization and implementation. Installed, repaired and maintained Network/Server room hardware and Cat5 cabling. I was responsible for IT equipment and repair inventory. Supported 125+ clients.

Supported 300+ clients.As a Senior Graphics Illustrator in the Creative Services group, was responsible for technical support for Creative Services, install new graphics load set on all CPUs, troubleshoot all hardware and software problems. Provided support regionally for several Creative Services Groups. Maintained Creative Services Macintosh and Windows PC's, peripherals, color and B/W printers and copiers. Prepared training materials and make recommendations on software and hardware purchases. Designed multimedia presentations, advertisements, brochures, flyers, and many other types of media using Freehand, Illustrator, PageMaker, QuarkXpress, PowerPoint, Visio and other graphics software. Purchased supplies and printing from outside vendors.
