This is an interesting role working on a estate that is in the middles of a major regeneration project. There is a mixture of new build and refurbishment of exisitng blocks in progress. I lead a small team responsible for responsive repairs and planned maintenance, statutory compliance(health and safety). I lead for the Trust on a number of procurement projects. There is also an interesting additional responsibility in that the Trust owns part of the gas distribution network for the estate which gives me a flavour of what its like to be chief gas engineer for the area.

West London

I was the Head of Maintenance. I led the responsive repairs service for general needs, leasehold, Supported Housing and Private Settled Accommodation carrying out 15000 repairs per annum and a programme of major repairs. I managed five staff comprising of Surveyors, a Building Services Manager and an administrator. I was responsible for a budget of £3m. I managed day-to-day repairs, gas safety and M&E contracts. I managed legal disrepair cases and all property aspects of leasehold and service charges. I managed the client relationship with the in-house maintenance contractor. I involved residents in the review of the repairs service.
